However, following revelations that some of the images may constitute child pornography, a moderator has warned that any images featuring Maroney or Lee "will be immediately removed".The “invasive plant” Japanese knotweed cocktail made for the occasion of “The Globalization of Plants” panel discussion at Tenderpixel last night. The hacked photographs were originally thought to have been posted on a "deep web" forum a week ago, but it was only when the images were subsequently uploaded to the 4chan anonymous image-sharing forum on Sunday that they were circulated widely.Īccording to online news organisation The Daily Dot, the Reddit community r/TheFappening has become the main hub for sharing the stolen photographs, because Reddit is one of the few mainstream websites that is not deleting links to the photos. The images so far released online are believed to represent only a fraction of a vast archive of explicit photographs that a group of hackers has been amassing for months, possibly by compromising the stars' iCloud accounts. But her lawyer has reportedly sent a letter to several pornography sites that have reposted the images, demanding that they remove them because Maroney was underage in several of them. Maroney, an Olympic gold medallist and world champion gymnast, tweeted that the photos of her posted online this week were "fake". 2196–2207 (2004)Ĭoncas, F., Xu, P., Hoque, M.A., Lu, J., Tarkoma, S.: Multiple set matching with bloom matrix and bloom vector. In literature 26, the performance of the current proposed PSI cardinality protocols are compared. Such criticism, however, is not without foundation. The other reason is that the advent of quantum computing, the increasing power of algorithms poses a great challenge to the security of classical cryptography which is based on unconfirmed arduous hypothesis 16. It’s hard to improve performance just by scaling up the hardware. One reason is that the efficiency and performance becomes outrageous when the input size becomes larger and larger. And these protocols are often viewed as inconsistent with reality. In these proposed protocols, most of them are based on classical cryptography. In recent years more and more PSI cardinality protocols are proposed, e.g. Such as, PSI cardinality has been used in privacy preserving data mining 3, information-sharing 4, human genome research 5, national security 6, Botnet identification 7, medical data preserving 8, 9, social networks 10, 11, location privacy protecting 12, 13, searchable encryption scheme 14 and anonymous authentication 15, 16. The main reason of PSI cardinality has been widely studied is that it has many real applications. And then the clients get the intersection cardinality and the server get nothing after processing the protocol. PSI cardinality enables multi-parties, one server and some clients, to jointly calculate the intersection cardinality with their private sets. One of the aspects of privacy protection research is about the Private Set Intersection (PSI) 1, 2 cardinality. In the era of “big data”, efficiency has become a key standard in designing privacy protection protocols. So privacy-protecting in large scale data processing brings new challenges to us: how to protect the data privacy with the large scale data processing, and how to meet the quick-speed and throughput rate of modern applications. Such as, geneticists should search several billion base pairs in an individual’s genome to study genetic diseases, epidemiologists need to access to medical databases which contain records of thousands of millions patients to study risk factors for disease, Online retailers hope to increase customer satisfaction by linking their transaction records to their customers’ social networking activities. Meanwhile, the data scale for processing and protecting is getting larger and larger. For this reason, there are many security solutions to protect privacy when data is processing or transmitting. But it is still a challenging task for protecting data privacy in using and transmission. For example, US privacy law COPPA, England Data Protection Act, Swedish Data Act, and other various of national privacy regulations. Protecting data privacy is a very important technology, which is a legal obligation in many countries. Therefore, the protocol has a good prospects in dealing with big data, privacy-protection and information-sharing, such as the patient contact for COVID-19. The protocol implements privacy protection without increasing the computational complexity and communication complexity, which are independent with data scale. The validity of the protocol is verified by comparing with other protocols. Thus it is more likely to realize through the present technologies. The protocol uses single photons, so it only need to do some simple single-photon operations and tests. It is a completely novel constructive protocol for computing the intersection cardinality by using Bloom filter. In this paper, we propose a novel quantum private set intersection cardinality based on Bloom filter, which can resist the quantum attack. It is equivalent to a secure, distributed database query and has many practical applications in privacy preserving and data sharing. Private Set Intersection Cardinality that enable Multi-party to privately compute the cardinality of the set intersection without disclosing their own information. The body (idiosoma) of ticks is typically not hardened to a great extent. In addition, many ticks secrete “cement” from the salivary glands around the bite site, which functionally glues the mouthparts to the host. Small rows of backward-facing spines (denticles) on the outside of the hypostome help anchor the tick in the host skin tissues. The hypostome is the attachment organ, and the opening to the digestive tract is found on the tip of the hypostome. They cut by inserting the chelicerae into the skin then pushing them outward from the midline to open a hole that allows the hypostome to be inserted. The chelicerae are cutting organs whose cutting surfaces face outward. The palps are leglike structures that do not penetrate host skin but are sensory in function. These structures function together and allow ticks to penetrate the host skin and extract a blood meal from the tissues below (Figure 1). The mouthparts (capitulum) have three specialized structures called palps, chelicerae and a hypostome that are attached to a base called the basis capituli (Figure 1). The body of ticks includes the eyes, legs, and respiratory, digestive and reproductive structures. The mouthparts on hard ticks protrude in front of the body and are visible from above (Figure 1), but the body of soft ticks extends forward above the mouthparts so they are only visible from beneath (Figure 1). Tick morphology consists of two primary regions, the mouthparts (capitulum) and the body (idiosoma). Management consists of modifying tick habitats, minimizing host abundance and using personal protective measures such as tick removal, tick repellents and pesticide application when necessary. Management of tick populations is important to minimize the risks of tick-borne disease. Tick-borne diseases result when pathogens acquired from one host infect the tick and are later transmitted to a second host during blood feeding. They locate and feed on a wide variety of vertebrate hosts and will normally attack any host they encounter in the environment. All stages and both sexes require a blood meal for proper development. North America is home to all four genera of soft ticks and seven genera of hard ticks.Īll ticks have a life cycle consisting of an egg, larva, nymph and adult. The family Nuttalliellidae is very rare and consists of only a single African species. Soft ticks (Argasidae) are less diverse with just four genera worldwide. They are by far the most commonly encountered ticks feeding on humans or wild and domestic animals. The hard ticks (Ixodidae) form the largest family with 14 genera worldwide. The more than 800 species worldwide are divided into three families, the Ixodidae, Argasidae and Nuttallellidae. Ticks are arthropods that are closely related to mites and spiders. This guide provides general information about ticks, tick-borne diseases and tick management practices for important biting ticks in Missouri. They harbor and transmit various pathogens including protozoa, viruses and bacteria to humans and their companion animals. Ticks are the most important vectors of disease in domestic and wild animals throughout the world and are second only to mosquitoes as transmitters of human disease. Topics covered in the series include an introduction to scouting, weed identification and management, plant diseases, and insects of field and horticultural crops. We can say the bond angle- so the angle between theĬhlorine, the beryllium, and the other chlorine. Is actually linear because we don't have any lone The shape of the electron clouds around theĬentral atom, if they're pointing in opposite So we have two electronĬlouds for this molecule, and those electronĬlouds are furthest apart when they point in And then over here we haveĪnother electron cloud. So we could think about thoseĪs being an electron cloud. So we can see that here are someīonding electrons right here surrounding our central atom. And so let's go ahead andĪnalyze our molecule here. Repel each other, those regions of electronĪpart from each other as they possibly can. And you could think about themĪs regions of electron density. Pairs of electrons occupying these electron clouds. Of valence electrons in bonds and in lone Of electron cloud helps describe the idea Slightly different definitions depending on which You'll see charge clouds,Įlectron groups, electron domains, and they have And I like to use theĭifferent terms for this in different textbooks. The number of electron clouds that surround the central atom. It just has to have lessįormal charge helps you understand why you can stop Valence electrons, so even though it's in periodĢ, it doesn't necessarily have to follow the octet rule. And so that's one way to thinkĪbout why you would stop here for the dot structure. That it is surrounded by two valence electrons. And I did the same thingįor this bond over here, and so you can see To chlorine and one of those electrons to beryllium. The covalent bond, I give one of those electrons And that would be two,įour- four berylliums. Of the valence electrons in the free atom. And if I want toįind formal charge, I first think about the number Our covalent bonds consists of two electrons. Octet of electrons? And the reason you don't isīecause of formal charge. Share them with the beryllium to give it an Those lone pairs of electrons in chlorine moving in to Well, why don't you keep going? Why don't you show some of So this dot structure hasĪll of our electrons in it. And, since I just representedġ2 more electrons there, now we're down toĠ valence electron. And chlorine is going toĪlready surrounded by two valence electrons, soĮach chlorine needs six more. Over electrons on our terminal atoms, which are our chlorines. So now we're down toġ2 valence electrons that we need to account for. And we just representedįour valence electrons. We know it is surroundedīy two chlorines, so we show beryllium bonded So you put the lessĮlectronegative atom in the center. Total of 16 valence electrons that we need to accountįor in our dot structure. Chlorine is in group 7,Īnd we have two of them. And so let's go ahead and drawĪ dot structure for BeCl2. Molecule or ion is to draw the dot structure to So when those electrons around a central atomįorce the molecule or ion into a particular shape. Means is that electrons, being negatively charged, Of molecules and ions by using VSEPR, which is anĪcronym for valence shell electron pair repulsion. Videos, we're going to predict the shapes The final molecular geometry ends up being bent. With this in mind, the tetrahedral is drawn with atoms on one side, electrons on the other. (The video on VSEPR 4 can better illustrate this.) What you want to keep in mind is that the atoms want to be as far apart from each other as possible, and the electron pairs repel atoms a little more then atoms repel atoms. Now, not all of those 4 regions are filled with an atom so we have to think about what happens if only half of those regions are filled. As a result, it's initial geometry would be tetrahedral. The central Oxygen would have 4 regions, one region for each of the electron pairs, and one region for each of the single bonds to hydrogen. Then, the molecular geometry is determined by considering how many actual atoms are in the structure, as opposed to electron pairs.įor example, if you are considering water (H20) which has a central Oxygen, with two pairs of electrons, bonded to two Hydrogen atoms. The short answer is that the initial configuration is determined by how many electron regions exist on the central atom. Now that I've secured my order and my wallet has gotten it's workout in, let's explore the new Jerrod Maruyama Disney Parks Home Decor Collection:ĭumbo Succulent- This was the item I wanted the most. (Most of it is still available a few hours later, but the piece I wanted most did sell out!) The collection is in the same style as his other Kingdom of Cute designs- which are Disney Parks landmarks, treats, characters and more in a cute, smiling, kawaii style that's popular overseas. I put everything from my list in my cart, checked out, and breathed a sigh of relief. So this morning, at ten of 10:00, I was at my computer, logged into the website and ready to go!Īt exactly 10:00 am, the Jerrod Maruyama Disney Parks Home Collection was live. Thankfully, a few days ago, I came across a post on Facebook stating that the collection would be available online on March 4th at 10 am. The biggest question was if Disney would release the items online. I was immediately all over any social media post that mentioned it. Over the past two weeks or so, a lot of the items from his new Disney Parks Home Collection have been released at Wonderground. A lot of people own something that he's created and his art has frequented Wonderground Gallery in Disneyland for years. And I'm pretty sure I've bought a few shirts with his artwork on them as well.Ĭlearly, Jerrod's artwork really speaks to us. I've slowly been collecting the Disney children's books he's illustrated. I also have the Disneyland Kingdom of Cute Backpack he designed back in 2017 that people went absolutely nuts over. I also have a ton of his designs as postcards: Epcot, Cars Land, It's a Small World, Up, Ratatouille, Toy Story, and more that I've probably forgotten about. This year, we had someone pick up his Mickey's Philharmagic print that was released at the Festival of the Arts. He's also known for his illustrations in a bunch of the children's books that Disney has published recently.Įliot and I already own prints of Jerrod's Disney Afternoon, Disneyland Kingdom of Cute and his Electrical Parade. All of those cute little Kingdom of Cute prints? They're from Jerrod as well. He's done a bunch of designs for Disney through the years. Eliot and I both follow him and love his cute character art. One of our favorite Disney artists is Jerrod Maruyama. The artists also usually announce when they're visiting the parks for signings, or when they have new pieces releasing at the art stores in the parks or shopping districts. It's a great way to find out what's being released at the Festival of the Arts every year. In fact, Eliot and I follow a bunch of the Disney artists on Instagram. Eliot and I are both creative and we love Disney, so it's not a big jump that we would want to fill our house with bright colors, Disney, and artwork. I want our house to be a reflection of us. Whether it's from the parks or from small shops online. If you've visited here before, chances are you know about Eliot's and my obsession of Disney art. There's a really good reason for breaking my own rules. But before I dive into the new merchandise, there's a bit of backstory. Today, Disney released another home decor collection and I couldn't help myself I had to write about it. It's a sound plan as that is usually when Disney releases new items on their Shop Disney website, but lately they've been adding more things throughout the week as well. I've been trying to limit my Magical Merchandise posts to Mondays. Today I'm rebelling a bit against my own "rules". When does the High Republic Era take place? Image credit: LucasFilm Ltd As the Jedi subsequently work to limit the damage and discover the true cause of what comes to be known as "the Great Disaster", the machinations and ambitions of the Nihil are revealed to the galaxy, forcing the Republic to face its biggest challenge yet. The inciting incident of the narrative involves the destruction of a ship by the violent Nihil - a large gang of space pirates/Vikings who serve as the chief recurring antagonists of the various stories set in this era - while it is traveling through Hyperspace, which causes the remains of the ship to become a series of 'Hyperspace missiles' which emerge into real space and threaten whole systems. It depicts the Republic (the ruling body of the Star Wars galaxy in the days before the Empire) at the height of its power, with the Jedi Order supporting a galactic senate and its chancellor which is expanding the Republic and bringing civilization to the far corners of the galaxy. It also refers to the real-world publishing initiative by LucasFilm, developed under the codename 'Project Luminous', to tell a variety of stories set in the era across a variety of media and for a variety of ages, from adults to teens to kids. The High Republic refers, in-universe, to a specific era in the Star Wars timeline, one set before the nine-film Skywalker Saga and the various standalone films and streaming series taking place in and around it. evil - but with entirely new characters (mostly) that are largely disconnected from people and events in preexisting stories, the High Republic represents a bold attempt to carve out a new place for stories in the Star Wars universe.Īnd with the era set to be featured in an upcoming streaming series, now is the perfect time to get on board! The fourth era accounted for on the timeline is called Age of Rebellion. Also included in this era is Solo, the second Star Wars Story released which follows Han and Chewbacca in their early days. Under this header resides the upcoming animated series The Bad Batch, which follows a group of Clone Troopers in the aftermath of The Clone Wars. They are followed by the third era, which is now referred to as Reign of the Empire. The High Republic and Fall of the Jedi are the first two eras represented on the new timeline. These publications are the first to be released, and predate the events of The Phantom Menace by several decades. The timeline arrives with the launch of Marvel Comics' The High Republic #1 and the new Star Wars novel The High Republic - Light of the Jedi. None of the new projects contained within The High Republic are included on the timeline itself. The High Republic is a new story initiative that spans several different medias, including books, comics and at least one upcoming TV show. |
